Moonrise by Sarah Crossan is a breathtakingly moving novel that bravely tackles the subject of capital punishment. Written in free verse, it is short but powerful and leaves the reader with big questions to ponder about such a debatable topic. This is a heart-breaking read and will make you cry, but is worth the journey to walk a mile with this family who are the human face behind the issue.
