Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month and we are in the mood to celebrate some amazing women and everything they’ve accomplished!
We encourage students at Mount Alvernia to broaden their knowledge of amazing women by exploring some of the following resources offered by the iCentre:
The iCentre will feature some wonderful displays this month about women who have inspired us throughout history. Pop in and check out our display of books and tell us your own stories of the amazing women you know.
We have many biographies and life stories about incredible women that students can borrow. These cover every field – activism, sport, theatre, politics, science, and civil rights are some examples. We also have some wonderful resources on the suffragettes for those students interested in the fight for social and political equality.
We have created an amazing Pinterest board Women Who Empower Us with links to great stories, websites, and more. These will link students to the modern women who empower us. Simply click on this link to explore some of these resources.
For those who would like to view a video as a way of learning about incredible women. We have also created this playlist in Clickview.
