Whats so good about Audiobooks?
Why Audiobooks?
According to the Audio Publishers Association, Audiobooks help “build and enhance vital literacy skills such as fluency, vocabulary, language acquisition, pronunciation, phonemic awareness, and comprehension—skills that often boost reading scores.” They are also handy – because you can read, listen and have your hands free (get it?) to do other things like craft, drawing, cleaning your room – eek – or go for a walk while reading, they are a really great way to take a story with you.
So if you prefer listening to your books rather than reading the words on the page, or you’re curious to try one, check out the OPAC to borrow an Audiobook, or pop into the iCentre if you need a hand.
