Read Like a Girl with your Dad
Read Like a Girl Father Daughter Event
Attention Dads of students in Year 7 & 8.
We invite you to play a part in your daughter’s reading journey.
You can do this by participating in our Read Like a Girl with your DAD event.
This requires you to read a book and have some fun with your daughter.
How to take part:
- Register by sending an email to library@mta.qld.edu.au. The email should tell us your name, your daughter’s name + her year level and learning group.
… your daughter will bring home 2 copies of the book Don’t call me Ishmael
- Read the book.
… both of you
- Mark your diary – Tuesday 24th July, 6:00 – 7:30 pm
…. to bring your daughter to the Mt Alvernia iCentre for a Pizza and author night where you will have the opportunity to listen to Michael Gerard Bauer, the author of Don’t Call me Ishmael.
… this event is nearly free … we are asking for participants to make a donation to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation who are supported by Riverbend Books, our community partners in Read Like a Girl.
Please note, our definition of Dad includes dads, step-dads, grandads, uncles, brothers and other significant men who support the education of our students and want to be involved. Feel free to let us know if you require more than 2 copies of the book (eg. If both dad & step-dad or dad & grandad …etc want to be involved).
