This week we are celebrating Queensland School Library Week with the theme of School Libraries Create Connections, focusing on the many connections between students and the world that are facilitated by the school library.
“Qualified Teacher-Librarians connect students with digital literacy skills, teachers with curriculum resources, and foster a reading culture at their school that connects students to the wider world.” (Queensland School Library Association website)
We are promoting Queensland School Library Week by encouraging students to participate in the Secondary art competition. Winners will each receive a $50 book voucher and their school will receive a $100 book voucher.
Entries will be accepted from Monday 4th March until Friday 15th March. Schools will be notified of winning students’ names via email.
Secondary students (Year 7 – Year 12) are to take a photo inspired by the theme School Libraries Create Connections.
Each school may submit one secondary school entry by scanning the entry and emailing it to the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students are encouraged to be as creative as possible to highlight the work of their school library.
