Celebrating Queensland Schools Library Week- 13th- 17th February
Hopelessly Devoted to you
Each year school libraries all around Queensland celebrate with students and staff the important work that libraries play in educating, instilling and celebrating literacy within their school community. The Queensland School Library Association (QSLA) creates a theme each year for the week long celebration, this year the theme is ‘devoted to you.’
How is the iCentre devoted to you?
The iCentre team consists of four members who are ready to help you kick your study, research and reading goals in 2023;
Mrs. Stower (Head of Head of Library and Digital Services)
Mrs. Lester (Library Technician)
Mrs Bonavia (Library Assistant)
Mrs Davis (Library Assistant)
How can we help you?
- Referencing guidance- in person or online via our Ask a Librarian or our NEW chat feature
- Research guides- available on the OPAC or at the front desk
- Tutorials- available under quicklinks on the iCentre website
- Laptop charging
- Printing station
- Quiet study areas
- Reader advisory
- Academic and Fiction displays
We believe that everyone can enjoy reading and it’s our goal to find the perfect read (fiction, non-fiction, magazine etc.) for each student and staff.
Pop into the iCentre this week to see one of our favourite events for the year Blind Date with a Book.
Students are welcome to choose a blind date (wrapped book) and enjoy reading it over the coming weeks. The iCentre loves to hear how much you enjoyed your book and welcomes book reviews that will be published for other students and staff to read.
Join in the fun and go on a Blind Date with a Book, you might find something to fall in love with.
