Can’t Say It Went to Plan by Gabrielle Tozer is a warm-hearted novel about the end of schooling and the dreams of spending the perfect week at Schoolies after the intensity of the Yr 12 year.  The author captures the roller coaster of emotions that go with being 18 and heading into a new phase of life, as well as the confusion, stress and complexities that accompany this rite of passage. Teen readers are going to identify with both the characters and the sensitive issues that are dealt with throughout the story, and absolutely love spending the week with this group of students.  Most of all, they will learn that life doesn’t always go to plan!
