The Vanishing Deep by Astrid Scholte is a page-turning YA fantasy mystery thriller that centers around two young women and their sibling bond. With 24 hours for them to uncover the truth they are looking for, the novel takes the reader on a roller-coaster ride with twists and turns and thrilling and challenging adventures.

A good example of Australian Speculative Fiction, teachers could use this as a class text for Yrs 9 or 10 with plenty of issues to discuss and debates.  Teacher’s Notes are available on the publisher’s website.
