Book Care Packages for Parents
Due to COVID regulations, the Queensland Government is discouraging parents from being on-campus. Sadly, this meant that we were not able to have our Parent Book Chat Breakfast this term. Our book chats consist of an expert-led book talk about great new reads published in Australia and internationally. They are usually followed by lively discussions about what everyone has been reading and our parents then have the opportunity to borrow from the iCentre adult collection.

We have missed hosting the book chat this term and felt that our parents may have missed it too. So, in place of the book chat, we prepared some ‘book care packages’ to send home for them. The packs include a book loan that we chose on behalf of our parents, a handmade bookmark, our usual book, movie and podcast recommendations, favourite recipes from our isolation kitchens, and some crack (an addictive sweet treat) – a Mt A book community favourite.

We had a lot of fun preparing the packs and trust they brought joy to those parents who signed up for one. If you are a parent in our community who would also like a little book cheer, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us and we will prepare a pack for you.
